We did it! You did it! Again! Astonishingly, the weather gods were smiling on us and gave us clear skies and calm water for the 6th Annual Great Newburgh to Beacon swim. We had 201 swimmers this year and 106 valiant kayakers. From all of us at River Pool at Beacon, Inc., we are indebted to our amazing swimmers and kayakers for their extraordinary support and spirit. Thank you from all of us!

Splash off was shortly after 10:30. Swim times ranged from 23 minutes to one hour and 23 minutes. There was a like range of experience, but the constant seemed to be the pleasure being in the river on a warm summer day. “It’s like any other relationship—the more you know about the person, the deeper the affection,” said one repeat swimmer. Another spoke of “water falling from my fingers like nature’s diamonds. “I’m looking forward to doing it every year for the rest of my life,” said another. And another posed the question: Do you have a date for next year’s swim?”

Not yet to that last question. We’ll figure that out when we look at the tide charts early next winter. Registration will open in early to mid-April for the Seventh Great Annual Newburgh to Beacon Hudson River Swim. See you then, see you there!

Thank You for your Support!
